Local press descends on Arkansas Graphics for historic trading card print production for the annual Oaklawn Apple Blossom Invitational.
[dropcap]I[/dropcap]t was a crazy day at Arkansas Graphics on Wednesday 24th February 2010. The local press descended upon us when they heard we were producing the Hot Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau 50,000 trading cards featuring Rachel Alexandra and Kenyatta in advance of the Oaklawn Apple Blossom Invitational. The April 9 race at Oaklawn Race Track is where the two champion horses will vie for a $5 million purse.
Arkansas Graphics in Little Rock, one of the states largest printers, was selected for this project due to its ability to produce the cards using high definition Staccato screening linked to strong color management.
Kevin Wilcox, Executive Vice President of Arkansas Graphics said “some print projects generate more interest than others and our staff is always excited when we produce something that is out of the ordinary. We were even getting calls early Wednesday morning from people all over the country asking us how they could get hold of a set of cards so it’s clear it’s going to be a great success for Hot Springs, Oaklawn and central Arkansas.”
